October 11, 2024 - ABC Academy hosted its highly anticipated Reading Day on October 10, 2024, as part of its ongoing efforts to promote reading among students. The event was a resounding success, filled with excitement, creativity, and joy.

The school's students, parents, and teachers came together to celebrate the magic of reading. Even the oldest students participated enthusiastically, dressing up as their favorite characters.

Three 12th-grade students, dressed as Alvin, Theodore, and Simon from Alvin and the Chipmunks, shared their fondness for the annual tradition. "It's bittersweet, knowing this is our last year, but I'm glad I got to be a part of it," they said.

According to Head of School Mrs. Riki Maseko, Reading Day brings immense energy to the school. "The kids push themselves to read more than they normally would," she noted.

The school's innovative approach rewards students with reading points for visiting the library and engaging with books.

In today's digital age, where short attention spans prevail, Reading Day serves as a vital reminder of the value of reading. It fosters creativity, critical thinking, and self-confidence. By encouraging children to read, ABC Academy is nurturing a generation of believers who will make a positive impact on society

This inspiring event sets a shining example for other schools to follow.

As one attendee observed, "It's a beautiful contribution to the nation, and I hope it continues to inspire more schools to prioritize reading."
